Privacy Policy

MCEE Expo invites you to read its Privacy Policy to understand the guidelines it applies with regard to protecting the personal information it collects through technological means.

1- Collection and use of your personal information

MCEE Expo collects some of your personal information, notably in the following cases:

  • When you use its website, applications, or commercial platforms;
  • When you communicate with the MCEE Expo team;
  • When you reserve a booth;
  • When you register for MCEE Expo;
  • When you enter the New Products Contest.


Among other uses, this information is necessary to allow us to:

  • Identify you (e.g., your name, postal and email address, telephone number);
  • Access the information required to process your claim or request;
  • Make a payment.


2- Consent

We collect and use your personal information in order to achieve specific goals. Your consent is valid only for the time required to achieve these objectives.

3- Transparency

When MCEE Expo requests your personal information, you will first be informed of the following:

  • Name of the organization on whose behalf this information is collected;
  • Purpose for which this information is collected;
  • Means by which the information is collected;
  • Whether this collection is mandatory or optional;
  • The consequences - for you or for a third party, as applicable - of refusing the request or withdrawing your consent to the collection or use of this information;
  • Rights of access and of rectification of the information, as provided for by law.

4- Transmission and disclosure of your personal information

Any personal information collected by MCEE Expo may be transmitted and/or disclosed to other persons or organizations for logistical and/or activity coordination purposes.

5- Use of cookies

MCEE Expo uses Google Analytics to collect data regarding your browsing habits such as the pages you visit, your page interactions, the length of your visit, the operating system you use, etc. This data is used for statistical purposes to improve your user experience and cannot be attributed to a specific individual.

Data collected through cookies

We collect the following information through this method:

  • Your operating system (e.g., Mac OS, Windows);
  • Your IP address;
  • Device type and model used (e.g., iPhone 11);
  • The device’s screen resolution;
  • Your browser type, language and version (e.g., Chrome, Safari) and other related data;
  • The domain name of the site you previously visited (e.g.,rbq.gouv.qc.ca);
  • The pages you browsed.

6- Links to external sites

MCEE Expo’s website includes hyperlinks to government and public/private organizations’ sites, both in Quebec and elsewhere. Information shared on these sites is not subject to MCEE Expo website’s Privacy Policy but to that of the external site in question. MCEE Expo does not guarantee the quality or general content of these sites and does not review their security or confidentiality policies. MCEE Expo will not be held liable for any hyperlinks provided for the purpose of facilitating searches.

7- Retention of personal information

The personal information collected by MCEE Expo is stored in Canada, with the exception of information contained in online forms on the A2Z software system which is used for booth reservations. Once the CMMTQ MCEE Expo team has processed the data in these online forms, the personal information collected via A2Z is destroyed.

8- Data security

All collected personal and confidential information is stored in a secure environment. This data may be accessed only by authorized personnel and only if it is necessary in the execution of their duties.

MCEE Expo’s external suppliers may also access this information. MCEE Expo ensures these suppliers follow the same privacy rules.

MCEE Expo is committed to informing you in the event of an incident which affects your privacy and presents a risk of serious harm.

9- Website visitors’ privacy rights

MCEE Expo is committed to respecting your rights regarding consent, use and retention of your personal information. In some cases, we may need to retain some of your personal information to meet our legal obligations.

To obtain access to or correct your personal information, you must send a written request, by mail or email, to the Officer responsible for access to information and privacy, whose contact details are listed at the end of this Policy.

10- Complaints

If you have questions or comments on this Policy, or if you believe MCEE Expo or a member of its staff has failed to comply with this Policy or has handled your personal information in an inappropriate way, you may file a complaint with the Officer responsible for access to information and privacy, whose contact details are listed below.
